Bathtime and Brotherly Love

Holt has been a great big brother thus far, and Harper Ann loves him. In the mornings she squeals when we go into his bedroom to wake him up and no one can make her laugh like he can. One of Harper Ann’s new tricks is that if she picks up a stuffed animal we can tell her to love it and she will hug it tight and swing it back and forth. Well, the other morning, she picked up my phone that has a picture of Holt as the screen saver, and she grinned really big and started “loving” the phone. It was really very sweet. Sometimes I am reaching a breaking point in the car and I say, “Holt, make Harper Ann happy,” and viola she is giggling in no time. A storm is a’ brewin though, as Harper Ann is mobile and seems to prefer Holt’s toys. Most of the time he is great about sharing, but every now and then she picks up something that he decides he must have. He is sneaky though; he’ll pick up a random toy and, as he says, “make a trade” with her, offering her the random trinket for her toy du jour. This has led to a few glares, but she still has a baby memory and gets over things pretty fast. I am also finding myself more and more often telling Holt, that Harper Ann is just a baby and didn’t mean to... Regardless, they really do seem to love one another.

Holt loves to get in Harper Ann's bed and play.
They are both getting a little too big for this to be fun for much lo9nger.
Holt making her happy. I took this on Easter Sunday on our way home.

Lovely
Playing outside during one of our first warm weekends
Holt is very sweet about helping me give Harper Ann a bath.

Watching Holt's cartoons
Jonathan gave Harper Ann a mow-hawk and Holt said he wanted one too

A little post bath silliness. Irene picked this car out for Holt for his 1st Christmas.
When we pulled it out of the attic for Harper Ann, he commandeered it.
Sneeky little girl. I left her alone for two seconds and
she had half the roll of toilet paper on the bathroom floor.

Who me?

Another one of Harper Ann's new tricks is standing on her head.
She will push her tush up in the air and peak at you through her legs.
She and Holt were giggling at each other the whole time I was trying to get a picture.
Silly boy
This picture was actually taken when Harper Ann got the stomach bug and had to have a midnight bath. four days later, we had all succumbed to the virus. It was awful, but she was so sweet about taking her bath we had to take a picture. It makes me sad that very soon, she will be too big for me to wrap up and cuddle like this.

"Helping" me with the laundry
Holt said, "Harper Ann has a girls cubs baseball and I have a real cubs baseball"

This was taken in February when she was just getting her crooked crawl down.

Feet

We had this duck tub, which was great, b/c Harper Ann could sit up in it and I could bathe them both and get Holt clean without worrying about her going under. Unfortunately, Someone let it get a little too close to the space heater. We were in the midst of a bath when the deflation started, it made for an adventurous night. Holt was a little sad about the loss of the duck.
What big muscles
