A pretty party for a pretty girl

It is hard to believe that our sweet (depending on your definition of sweet) baby girl is a year old. Her personality has really started budding this spring and come into full bloom this summer. We had a small celebration of Harper Ann Day with some family and friends. I made different salads and cupcakes. Harper Ann wasn’t sure about the cupcake at first, but a little taste did the trick and she dug right on in. We put out the slip’n’slide and wading pools in the back yard and the kids had plenty of fun splashing around. Libbi suggested we add dawn to the slip n slide to make it slicker; every time I turned around one of the older kids was dumping more dishwashing soap on the runway. Anyway, we had a blast celebrating the obstinate one’s special day.
